Pickle Slices Recipe
4 qts. thin sliced cucumbers
6 med. white onions, sliced
1 green pepper, cut in strips
1 sweet red pepper, cut in strips
1/3 c. coarse salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
5 c. sugar
3 c. white vinegar
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1-1/2 tsp. celery seed
1-1/2 tsp. turmeric
Combine all vegetables and salt. Cover with
ice cubes and mix thoroughly. Let stand three
hours. Drain well. Combine other ingredients.
Pour over vegetables. Bring to just boiling.
Put in sterilized jars and seal. Makes 8 pints.
Chill before serving.
